Tips for Optimizing your Wedding for Video

Everyone wants the best possible video of their wedding they can get. But is there something the bride and groom, the family or the wedding planner can do to ensure they do? Absolutely! Here are a few suggestions for optimizing your wedding day to look great on video (as well as in pictures).

LIGHT! Everything that we can see around us is made possible by light. This is true for cameras as well. It may sound like a fun idea to light your reception only by candle light, but be aware that people will trip over chairs and your camera operator will have difficulty filming in these conditions. While camera optics have improved dramtically, adaquate lighting is one of the best ways to ensure your wedding looks as good on camera as it does to your guests.

SOUND! It's true that the bride and groom will not do a lot of talking during the ceremony. Most usually leave that up to the officiant. However, speaking loudly and clearly is not only a great way to record your voice for video, but also so the audience will hear you say "I do!".

ACTION! Preplanning the sequence of events is essential to making sure your wedding goes off without a hitch. But be sure you let your videographer know the plan, especially if you have made changes to the plan since you last spoke with them.

These are simple, common sense ways to help ensure that your wedding day is as beautiful on-screen as well as in real life.
